The Greenhouse in Mayfair welcomes its guests through a landscaped garden decorated with lines of trees, water features and stone artworks by the British sculptor Emily Young. The garden separating The Greenhouse from the residential streets outside evokes a serene environment for guests, which is also carried through into the well-styled and minimalistic interior. The restaurant is spacious and naturally lit with views of the garden outside. The interior is designed with a calm green colour palette, as well as natural materials including its slate, marble and wood finishes. A subtle connection between the garden and restaurant is also seen in the miniature sculptures, similar to those in the garden, on each of the tables. At The Greenhouse, guests enter into a hidden oasis where the serene and tranquil power of nature is intertwined into every guests’ dining experience through the simple yet sophisticated environment, interiors and cuisine.
The Greenhouse opened in 1977, and is a two Michelin star awarded restaurant offering classic French cuisine. In 2003, The Greenhouse was bought by the Marlon Abela group MARC, which also owns Umu and the Square. Since then, The Greenhouse has held on to its two stars in the 2018 UK Michelin Guide, as well as experienced international acclaim for being one of only four restaurants in the world to win the Wine Spectator Award, which is the highest award given for exceptional quality in a wine list. The Greenhouse’s gastronomic success is also encapsulated in its latest chef, Alex Dilling, that recently joined in 2018 from the Connaught, where he was the hotel executive chef. Prior to that, his culinary experience included being the Chef de Cuisine at the Caviar Russe in New York. The Greenhouse is an iconic restaurant in London that guests can count on to deliver one of London’s finest dining experiences. For further luxury, The Greenhouse also offers a Private Dining Room designed by Virgile & Stone and is available for up to twelve people. The room is centred around an intimate circular table, and encompasses a beautiful view of the restaurant as well as curtains that can be drawn to create a more intimate dining experience.
Dilling’s culinary approach involves sourcing the best and freshest ingredients, combining unique and innovative flavours influenced by French and European cuisine, and presenting them immaculately. Curated by Dilling, the seasonal menus change regularly to showcase the finest and freshest ingredients of the season. Guests can choose from a tasting menu, an A La Carte, and a set lunch menu. The tasting menu comprises six courses at £155 per person and is a masterpiece of the chef’s signature dishes. It balances the light and delicate flavours from its caviar, oyster and sweetbread courses, with the rich and luxurious textures in its Duck and A5 Gunma wagyu beef. To top it off, guests can indulge in a Rhubarb or Santarem chocolate made with Buckwheat and whisky. On the A La Carte menu we recommend starting with the lux Duck foie gras, marinated in Cevennes onion, lemongrass, champignon de Paris and lemon thyme. For mains, The Greenhouse’s meat dishes are spectacular with the Venison made with Juniper, Tokyo turnip, and smoked bone marrow jus as one of the highlights. Guests can also sample the finest artisan cheeses, sourced from small farm produces in France, as well as select the perfect wine pairings from their extensive wine list of over 3,400 labels.
Integral to the success of The Greenhouse is the highly professional attitude of its staff, combined with its classic French cuisine, and elegant and peaceful setting. It remains the bastion of fine dining, offering guests the perfect escape to indulge in the very best in food and wine.

You’d expect a Michelin-starred chef with his CV to be all puffed up with self-importance, but not Sameer. He’s not the type to humble brag with his hand earnestly resting on his chest, telling you ‘how grateful and humbled’ he is in that way that makes you cringe. No, […]

Mosimann’s – A Look Inside London’s Famous Members Restaurant
When one utters “Darling… I’m just popping in for a spot of lunch at a luxurious dining restaurant in Belgravia that catered to both Harry and William’s wedding; it has John Major, John Cleese and a long list of actors, writers, and politicians as regulars too. The rub is that you must be a member to even order a starter, and it catered for the Olympics, US presidents and some of the most powerful people […]
