They say that there’s nothing better then dinner with view and Aqua Shard offers exactly this placing itself on the 31st floor of The Shard serving the finest contemporary British cuisine with unimaginable views of London’s iconic skyline. Aqua Restaurant group already holds host to some of the most spectacular restaurants branching out from to Hong Kong to Beijing to London. Running for 18 years gives them the knowledge to create each restaurant and bar to the highest standard each one with their own unique attributes.
Aqua Shard is made up of three sections consisting of ‘The Tea Wing’, ‘The Gin Wing’ and ‘The Private Dining Room’ offering a 360-degree view of the city that surrounds it. The interior of the restaurant beams in its theatrical theme representing the history of the streets that surround The Shard paying key attention to detail, making sure the designs of the inside and the views from the outside compliment each other. The Tea Wing is made up of naturalistic colours with a dark oak floor, black marble herringbone and dark green and brown leather interior with banquette seating representing British art nouveau textile designs. Each table is complimented with a bespoke chandelier. The idea is to ‘Evoke memories of the tea trade of the East India Company.’ You then have the ‘Gin Wing’ which has an added feature of opaque folding screens with colours mixing from light to green to purple creating a relaxed atmosphere within in the room. The idea is based on the Gin Distillery. Meeting in the middle you are a greeted with a three-story lounge made up of the Aqua Atrium Bar, the afternoon tea area and the welcome lounge.
