Being one of the oldest Private Members Clubs in Great Britain, built in 1732 by the apprentice of Christopher Wren, Blacks is rich with British Culture whilst still upholding the exclusivity it has always displayed, acting as a refuge from the outside world. Brought back to London in 2014 by current owner Ben Goldman, the Georgian Heritage is still prominent throughout the Private Members Club, making one of The Best Private Members Clubs in London.
Set across three beautiful furnished floors, Blacks Club is full of quirky, unique aspects, differentiating itself from the surrounding Private Members Clubs. On the first floor of the venue you will find The Club Room and a Bar. One of the aspects to Blacks which stood out was their Restaurant, which claims to be ‘Seasonal, honest and well-executed’, and we can certainly vouch for that. The A La Carte Menu designed by Chef Matthew Brydan has a selection of classic, delicious British favourites whilst incorporating European influences such as Beef Carpaccio as a starter and a Wild Game Pie served with Triple Cooked Chips, both equally as delicious and presented beautifully.
In regards to becoming a Member of Blacks Club, their main criteria is that ‘You’re extraordinarily interesting and interested’, Memberships are priced at an annual fee of £500, with an upfront cost of £250. Members have access to exclusive events each month, at least once a month Members of Blacks Club have access to the Club’s Supper Club, an opportunity for Members to get to know one another at a themed-event, which is complimented by unique food menus each accompanied by hand-selected wines. Blacks Club also arrange Music Nights, for both accomplished or up and coming performers, Members are invited to enjoy an evening of high-quality music, ranging in different genres and styles. One of Britain’s biggest and most successful male solo performing artist’s, Sam Smith who performed his first gig at Blacks Club!
