The Waterfront of Canary Wharf is a testament to this city's most pristine, cut-glass beauty. Views such as the likes of Humble Grape's capturing the zygoma of East London, and with it the mirage of Londoners sipping and dining out by the bay; they refract and reflect the best of us back at ourselves, ready for admiring
Humble Grape, a fantastic wine bar that shouldn't shy away from its equal credentials as a fantastic low=key restaurant, knows how to make the most of the view. The space inside is left open and lofty with low-hanging, green-sprout baskets that hang intermittently over the continuous sofa=back seating. The tables are the intermittent cabin windows, the calm water outside a constant presence.
Ut's the perfect storm to work up a powerful thirst in guests -- and good thing too, because they have over 400 wines on the menu, available by the bottle. This genteel bar aims to put value back in the uninhibited enjoyment of luxurious wine flavours, not just the name: they source sustainable and with producers they have tended personal relationships with/. The result? Fantastic, courteously fun events like their regular Tasting Tuesdays, where we (along with all visitors that day) sampled 4 mini test beverages following the inspiration brought on by Humble's Grape's team training day.
At the risk of underselling the enormous bounty of exclusive beverages on offer-- we have to earnestly recommend Les freres Laffitte Rose -- its red fruit and berry twang matching the sweet, naturalistic scenery of the waterfront bar to a T. When in doubt, simply turn to the wait staff like we did, they take not just pride but joy in recommending something of interest -- no snobbery here, for all its elegiac riverside presence. (There's even an inordinate selection of Rums, Gins and even tequila's if you're not in the mood for a bottle.)
With an early start and late finish every day of the week, Humble Grape also offers nourishment of the body and not just of the wine palette -- the Humble Grape Iconic Baked Camembert came in so many options we had to try them all: Honey and hazelnut for the sweet-tooth, or rosemary and Garlic to compliment those with a glass of something smokier to hand.
And if you need a little boost to kick start an evening of sampling -- try the 'retox' (genius) blast of their whizz fizz bloody humble Mary.
This Bar may be humble, but it has nothing to shrink from, it's a fabulous venue where the liquid inside is on equal glory with the liquefied horizon outside the front door. With bookings of up to twenty people for glamorous waterfront parties -- don't miss your chance to visit.

Often, a good night out in London can be confused with five to eight hours of hummingbird activity; the most places dropped in, pillaged, and evacuated en route to the cab home equals the ‘satisfying’ party. But what about a truly enriching night? One where there is no need to leave, seek anew, or start over next door because everything you need is there. Enter Nolita Social bar, a Knightsbridge venue and one of the best underground bars in London.
North of Little Italy — Nolita — imbues its Hyde Park corner with a flash of New York. The electrifying glamour of sleeplessness, a nocturne time too good to abandon, emboldens the soft lounge sets and Manhattan mansion decor. Small and intimate, this bar invited us to wile away the hours with a sustained ambiance: every hour, live music and DJ sets encompassing 70’s soul to 90’s Hip Hop alternated (nothing wakes you up like a double dose of gospel hits and B-boy lyricism all in one evening). this goes on until 1 am, and we felt so compelled to stay (it turns out they even host events outside of these generous regular hours — with a 100-spaced Bar-venue having hosted everything from film production to album parties, in true eclectic little Italy spirit.)
Just as the music ebbed, softened, and roared to life at intervals — so did the drinks we found at our disposal — we started with the Hudson White Manhattan, one to send you offshore into that good night. Taste whistle pig whiskey, Lillet blanc, Strega liqueur, and orange bitters. When it finally comes time for a nightcap, we can’t recommend the Seville highly enough. It could be hard to re-enter one’s body after such a sublime and elongated bar party — with patron silver tequila, aperol, passion fruit, habanero bitters and lime, it will truly calm you down.
Make a reservation, or simply stroll in (“Hey, you’ll walk in here”) to London’s Big Apple, one of the best new bars, Nolita Social.

Lyaness is the newest bar from the award-winning Ryan Chetiyawardana (more commonly known as Mr Lyan) and his esteemed team. Their success also includes the acclaimed venues White Lyan, Super Lyan and Cub. Lyaness recently replaced Dandelyan, which was named "The world's best bar" in 2018. It has retained the essence of its Dandelyan heritage and popularity with its new design engineered by the same designer, Jacu Strauss and the Lore Design Team. Lyaness bar London has, however, imbued the space with a greater focus on comfortability and fun. It features a signature electric blue colour theme complemented by its original green marble bar. It also has spectacular views of the Thames River by continuing its collaboration with Sea Containers London. The real significant change shines through in the cocktails.
The 21-drink menu encompasses seven home-made ingredients showcasing flavours such as banana, pineapple and raspberry. Three unique and superb drinks are made from each ingredient. What makes Lyaness different from the rest, including its predecessor Dandelyan, is its new-found curiosity to transform alien and unusual ingredients into delicious cocktails. Page-long blurbs accompany each ingredient to illustrate how Lyaness has manipulated the ingredients in the most unusual ways. Its mantra is to lead by flavour instead of recipes. This is definitely epitomised in its first ingredient-cocktail selection, 'Infinite Banana'. Naturally the cordial is made from banana where the focus lies in curing and fermenting to bring out as many remarkable and complex flavours as possible. It comes in a trio of cocktails encompassing three distinct interpretations of the Banana flavour- smoky, spicy and sweet. An excellent cocktail made with this ingredient includes their £13.5 Double Pain Killer. It has the added ingredients of Bombay Sapphire, Bacardi Cuatro and is finished off with dashes of coconut, lemon and orange. Another exceptional ingredient-led cocktail type is made with their unique 'Aromatised Milk Wine' cordial. Lyaness bar London champions an innovative preservation technique that changes the natural textures and flavours of the milk. These techniques reduce the heavy dairy effect and capture fuller taste and aroma. The milk cordial best shines through in its £13 Silver Bullet cocktail. Its made to perfection with roku gin, milk wine, bitter orange and a bit of lemon.
With its ethos to be vibrant yet relaxed, Lyaness is the perfect haunt for early afternoon tea with its cocktail-based tea selection. It also transforms into the best bar location for after-work and weekend drinks with its prestigious resident DJs and eclectic mix of rock, funk and disco.

Nestled between City and Shoreditch on the 10th Floor of the new Montcalm Royal House Hotel in Finsbury Square is Aviary; a stylish rooftop terrace soaring above the busy streets of London. It has been heralded as one of London’s best rooftop destinations, famous for its breathtaking city skyline views and opulent style. Cocktail connoisseurs and city-slickers alike flock to this elegant rooftop bar and restaurant designed by Russell Sage Studio.
The main restaurant space is designed with an art deco inspiration with its large circular ceiling lights and glamorous gold and cream fabrics, juxtaposed with pops of bright purple, orange and green colours. It features a stunning central bar which elegantly divides the restaurant area from the bar lounge. The outdoors is brought inside with hanging planters and is combined with chic geometric-patterned furniture, plush single seating and relaxed banquettes creating a bright and vibrant atmosphere. The outside rooftop terrace is a spectacular vantage point to view some of London’s most iconic buildings with a cocktail in hand. It has comfortable lounge seating and is decorated with colourful and elegant outdoor furniture; and hanging heater lamps, making it a stylish outdoor venue in both summer and winter.
At the bar lounge an array of beautifully crafted cocktails embrace botanic flavours and use natural ingredients in a fresh and creative way. Drinks are presented in chic copper and sharing pineapple shaped tankards. For evening drinks at the outdoor terrace, we suggest trying the Honey Rider mixed with Tanqueray gin and botanical ingredients like honey, mead, blackberries, thyme and lemon. Another choice recommendation is the Take It Sloe made with oak aged Sloe & Mulberry gin, lemon, honey and egg white. There is also a wide selection of wines, beers, rums, cognac, gins and champagnes to choose from. For guests that desire a light bite with their drinks, the bar menu is superb with its small plates of hummus, sesame and grilled pitta or pair a fine champagne with their fresh Lindisfarne rock oysters.
Aviary sources its food from small British livestock farmers who share the same passion for seasonal and sustainable Great British produce. Lunch and dinner menus are available at the main restaurant and we suggest starting your evening with their £13 tuna ceviche with coconut, lemongrass, red chili, radish, lotus root and sesame or the aged beef tartare with confit egg yolk, shallots and potato crisps. For mains the £20 Suffolk pork belly with black pudding, celeriac choucroute, red wine and apple puree as well as the £19.5 roast chicken breast with pancetta, leeks, gnocchi and roasting juices are great choices. For those looking for robust grilled mains, prime cuts of beef and aged for 21 – 35 days including a Butcher’s Cut, Rib Eye and Chateaubriand are available with a choice of Bearnaise, Hodson’s, peppercorn and truffle gravy.
Whether it be evening cocktails, or dining from one of their elegantly crafted menus, Aviary delivers class and a vibrant ambience for all guests with spectacular views of the city below.
