Sotto Soho Bar Review: New Menu Reinventing Italian Classics

Sotto Soho Bar Review

Beneath the chic Bocconcino Soho, Sotto Soho bar has quickly established itself as a gem in London’s cocktail scene. This subterranean speakeasy is not just a bar. It’s a journey to the heart of Italy, blending the traditional with the contemporary to celebrate Italian cocktail culture. With the introduction of a new Italian-inspired cocktail list, created in collaboration with the acclaimed mixologist Rich Woods, aka the Cocktail Guy, Sotto invites patrons on an immersive journey through the flavors of Italy, redefining ‘La Dolce Vita’ with every sip.

The New Cocktail Menu

Launching on Friday, 12th April, the new cocktail menu reflects Woods’ innovative approach, reinventing classic cocktails with a modern Italian twist. The Med Martini, for example, is a bold fusion of lemon gin, Lillet Blanc, bergamot, and Amalfi lemon, topped off with a unique Mediterranean Sea spray foam, encapsulating the freshness of the Italian coast. Meanwhile, the Blood Orange & Tarragon Spritz marries the citrusy sweetness of blood orange with the herbal notes of tarragon, grapefruit bitters, and prosecco for a refreshing concoction that speaks to the spirit of southern Italy.

For those looking to complement their dessert with a cocktail, the menu offers decadent creations like the Tiramisu Martini. This take on the Espresso Martini blends vodka, dark chocolate, and vanilla. It is served through a tiramisu frappe for dessert in a glass. The Biscotti Sour and Blackcurrant Negroni further showcase Woods’ talent for combining traditional Italian flavors with contemporary flair.

Rich Woods expressed his excitement about the collaborative menu. He aims to encapsulate the essence of Italy all within a glass. They have resident DJs and a menu of authentic Italian small plates complementing the drink offerings. As Sotto prepares to unveil its new cocktail list — With its doors open on Friday and Saturday evenings —  it reinforces its position as a must-visit destination for those seeking to experience the sophisticated charm and inventive spirit of Italian cocktail culture in London.
