Toum Restaurant London Review

On Maddox Street in Mayfair, Toum restaurant in London brings a fresh take on Lebanese dining to one of the city’s most luxurious neighbourhoods. Opened in December 2024 by Tarek and Monika Farah—renowned for their work with Aline—Toum takes its name from the iconic Lebanese garlic sauce. The concept centres around modern Lebanese rotisserie, blending traditional recipes with Mediterranean and French influences for an elevated dining experience.

As you step into Toum, you’re welcomed by a chic yet cosy setting. Burgundy accents, floor-to-ceiling windows, and soft lighting create a warm, inviting atmosphere. The centrepiece is the open kitchen. Here, chefs artfully prepare rotisserie chicken—an element that draws your eyes when you walk in. Seating ranges from intimate booths to counter seating that offers a front-row view of the culinary action. This makes it perfect for quiet dinners and larger gatherings.

Venture downstairs, and you’ll find Encore, Toum’s basement listening bar. This sleek space features curated playlists, dim lighting, and bespoke cocktails. The drinks menu is designed by Jad Ballout, a Lebanese mixologist celebrated for his creative flair. The Tomatillo Martini, made with green tomatoes and olive oil, is a standout drink and pairs beautifully with the flavours upstairs.

Toum is not just a restaurant but a journey into modern Lebanese cuisine, enhanced by a stylish ambience and an innovative listening bar. Whether you’re savouring their signature chicken or enjoying cocktails downstairs, it’s a destination that promises Mayfair sophistication with a twist.

Toum Restaurant London Menu

At the heart of Toum’s menu is its rotisserie chicken, prepared with precision. The house-brined, marinated bird is roasted to golden perfection and served with their signature garlic sauce, chicken jus, chimichurri, or Café de Paris butter.

Beyond the chicken, the menu offers small and large plates with an adventurous twist. Highlights include the Samke Harra, a spiced sea bass with walnut, coriander, and tahini sauce, and the octopus with green hummus and shallots. Sautéed chicken livers with pomegranate molasses and pine nuts deliver a punch of sweetness and savoury.

Desserts are no afterthought. The Knafeh Soft Serve, with orange blossom and pistachios, delivers a delightful nod to Middle Eastern traditions, ensuring a sweet finish.
